FAQ: Emulator host system
Q: Does putting the emulated Sun3 drive in a host ram-drive improve emulation
speed?
A: No. If you have sufficient host memory to never swap, the host NetBSD
operating system performs well enough that putting the emulated drive in a
host-ram drive doesn't improve things. The emulator is processor bound!
Q: Does dual-core help?
A: Not unless you're running multiple emulators on the same host. The host
NetBSD operating system takes very little of the processor. It all goes to
the emulator.
Q: How fast is the emulation? Is the emulator the fastest way for me to
run my m68020 executables?
A: See the FAQ-emulator-speed for details.
